Frank J. Borie, 90, a Spanish-American War veteran whose home was at 619 West Ave., died at 5:45 a.m. yesterday in East Haven Nursing Home. He had been ill three years.
Mr. Borie was born in Philadelphia, July 31, 1873, and lived in Elyria 60 years. He retired in 1938 as superintendent of the Pipe Mills of Lorain Works U.S. Steel Corp.
His wife, Bertha H., died in 1936. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Robert G. Tischler, Cleveland, Miss Gertrude Borie and Mrs. Ernest W. Dyer, both of Elyria, Mrs. Leroy B. Crowell, Oakland, Calif., and a brother, Roland of Haverford, Pa.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church and burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the Sudro-Curtis Funeral Home where Friends may call.
