Brookland- Larry Darrell Benson, 70, departed this life Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.
He was born March 2, 1949 in Potosi, Missouri, the son of the late Floyd and Elsie Benson.
Larry was a mechanic and Auto Body Repairman. He married Jane Smithee on September 29, 1973 and they enjoyed forty-seven years together. He loved fishing, riding motorcycles, enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool. He was a faithful husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Benson of the home; one daughter, Suzanne Clayton (Don) of Paragould; five sons, Alex Benson of Paragould, Matt Benson (Tina) of Brookland, Bradley Benson of Paragould, James Benson of Indianapolis, IN and Scott Benson (Lisa) of St. Charles, MO; one brother, Jerry Benson of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Trey Clayton of Paragould, Cory Clayton (Ashley) of Jonesboro, Matthew Benson and Bradley Benson both of Brookland, Riley Benson, Logan Benson, Abbie Benson, Braxton Benson and Sydney Kellim all of Paragould, Tyler Benson of North East, Maryland, Derrick and Jacob Sabourin both of Indianapolis and Nicholas, Nathan and Jamie Benson of St. Charles and great-grandchildren, Bonnie Benson of North East and Jessalyn Nicole, Nathan Jr., Logan, Alec and Olivia all of St. Charles.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Regina.
Memorial services will be 3:00 p. m. Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro. Friends may visit just prior to services, 2:00 -3:00 p.m.
