Singer. Karen was the wife of record producer Phil Ramone. Through her husband, she befriended Karen Carpenter while she was making her solo album in New York City. As such, she was witness to the worst of Karen's anorexia nervosa. She was a key commentator on this period in Karen's life in several documentaries, and also figures prominently in Karen's bio, "Little Girl Blue," by Randy Schmidt.

Under the pseudonym of Karen Kamon, she sang "Manhunt" on the "Flashdance" movie soundtrack and album. She also contributed vocals and voice overs for numerous other projects.
