Obituary.
John J. Stands was born in Stark County, Ohio, in the year 1849, died May 19, 1918, aged 70 years, 2 months and 25 days.
Mr. Stands was united in marriage to Miss Christena Kahler on October 27, 1873.
He moved to Sumner county, Kansas in the year 1878, of which place he has since resided.
To this union were born eight children, five of whom with his wife survive.
Namely, Mrs. Bertha Davis, of Garden City, Kansas; Mrs. Ollie Exline and I.S. Stands, of Seiling, Oklahoma, Mr. J.H. Stands and R.C. Stands of Wellington, and sixteen grandchildren.
He was a kind husband and father with a host of friends.
