She was the daughter of the late James Ewing Whitlow and Ida Lois York Whitlow and wife of the late Clovis Ray Wallace and Bobby Lee Buchanon, Sr.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Roy Whitlow and Harry Whitlow.
