Leonard Leroy Zgorski, 82, of Hampstead, Maryland left this earth as the angels took him home to be with God on Friday, December 26, 2008.
Born December 24, 1926 in Dorrance, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Adam Sr. and Margaret E. Eckrote Zgorski. Twice married, he was the husband of Carol Long Boudreau Zgorski and the late Patricia Granruth Zgorski.

He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a retired construction supervisor for Hankin & Zgorski Construction.
He was a member of St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Manchester, Maryland; the Knights of Columbus 3960 in Randallstown, Maryland; Piney Branch Golf Club and Citywide Golf Association.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters and son-in-law, Kimberly Dykes and fiance Glenn Carnathan of Westminster, Maryland, and Theresa and John Rampolla of Hampstead, Maryland; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Dawn Zgorski of Hampstead, Maryland; stepsons, Dean Boudreau and wife Cindy, Jim Boudreau and wife Brenda, and Jean Boudreau and wife Ruth all of Hampstead, Maryland; stepdaughter, Susan MaClellan and husband Scott of Hampstead, Maryland; a sister, Margaret Ellinger of Westminster, Maryland; brothers, Robert Zgorski of Annapolis, Maryland, Carl Zgorski of Silver Spring, Maryland and Thomas Zgorski of Finksburg, Maryland; grandchildren, Allison Zgorski, Jennifer Gretsch and husband Max, Victoria and Dylan Dykes, and Sam and Shellee Goldstein; step grandchildren, Alec, Hannah and Chloe Boudreau, Nicholas, Mallory and Liam MaClellan, Heather Gleason, Ashley and Tommy Mediary and Lance Zanti and wife Tina; and great-grandchildren Cheyenne Zgorski, Natalie, Jeana, Matthew and Nicole Gretsch and Catherine Zanti.
He was predeceased by his daughters, Donna Johnson and Veronica Zgorski and his brother, Adam Zgorski, Jr.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, December 27, 2008, at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church located at 2930 Hanover Pike in Manchester, Maryland with the Rev. Michael Roach as the celebrant. Interment will be private.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm on Sunday December 28, 2008, at Eline Funeral Home located at 934 South Main Street in Hampstead, Maryland.
