Born in Raynham, a son of the late Mariano and Virginia ( Gomes ) Pedro, he lived in Attleboro most of his life.
Mr. Gomes was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church. He was a past president of the Portuguese-American Club.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Joseph and Edward G. Gomes ; five daughters, Mary F. Simpson, Virginia F. Tucker, Catherine G. Fernandes, Anne Marie Bolton and Laurie Ann Frazier, all of Attleboro; two brothers, James Pedro in Florida and Edward Pedro of Pawtucket; a sister, Mary Jasak of Pawtucket, and 14 grandchildren.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., with a funeral Mass at 10 at Holy Ghost Church, Linden Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
