Noby LaPlant, age 93 of Fredericktown, Missouri passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at his residence in Fredericktown. He was born on November 20, 1926 in the Cedar Bottom Community in Madison County, Missouri to Samuel Marion and Annie Louise (Simmons) LaPlant.
On December 1, 1990 he was united in marriage to Lucille Velma Young in Fredericktown, she survives at the home. Other survivors include: his step-children -Lewis E. (Cathy) Francis of Jackson, Missouri, Ronald G. (Angie) Francis of Billings, Montana and Crystal (Joe) Sherrick of Fredericktown; twin brother – Oby LaPlant of Fredericktown; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers – Floyd, Lloyd, Fred, Ed, Tony, Ralphie, and Willard “Red”, sisters – Mamie Berry and Lilly Shell.
Noby was a United States Army Veteran, he enjoyed traveling, dining at the Senior Center and watching TV. He was always ready to go anywhere he was needed.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 15, 2020 also at Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Lindell Sikes, Bro. Steve Francis and Lewis Francis officiating.
Interment will be at the Little Vine Cemetery near Fredericktown with full military honors.
