Helen “Terri” Simmons Lea, 58, of Danville, went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 16, 2019. Mrs. Lea was born in Danville, VA on August 30, 1960, to the late Gayle Roach and the late Herman E. Simmons. She was married to the late Robert Lea, III.
Terri was also raised by her beloved stepmother, Patsy Scearce. Terri was a loving mother and “Ma” and she was a devoted and loving follower of Jesus Christ. She is survived by her daughters Crystal Hendley (Barry), and Ashley Purnell (Adam); her stepsons John Lea, Jeremy Lea, Jason Lea and Jodi Lea; her sisters, Robin Martin (George), Michelle Clauberg (Tim), Amanda Winstead (Ben), Michelle Dodson (Forrest) and Nichole Gregory (Dave); her brother, Butch Simmons (Sharon); her grandchildren, Kaelli Purnell, Alex Purnell, Georgia Hendley, Bella Hendley, Paisley Purnell and Jessa Hendley.
