A 13-year-old London schoolboy has become the UK's youngest coronavirus victim.
Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab, from Brixton, London, sadly died without any family members close by due to the highly infectious nature of Covid-19.
The teenager, who had no underlying health conditions, died at Kings College Hospital yesterday morning after being put into an induced coma.
The Mohamed family, who sadly also lost their father to cancer, said: "Ismail started showing symptoms and had difficulties breathing and was admitted to Kings College Hospital.
"He was put on a ventilator and then put into an induced coma but sadly died yesterday morning. To our knowledge he had no underlying health conditions. We are beyond devastated."
He was buried at the Eternal Gardens Muslim burial ground at Kemnal Park Cemetery in Chislehurst by undertakers wearing protective equipment as a small number of mourners watched on from a short distance away
