Albert Rees Bowdre, Jr. was born on January 22, 1861 in Senatobia, MS to Albert Rees Bowdre, Sr. and Lucy Clark Oliver Meriwether Bowdre. He married Ada Hervey on May 22, 1898 in Santa Anna, California. They did not have any children.

According to his death certificate, he was creamated by Westwood Creamatory, Los Angeles, on January 5, 1937. Also, according to Inglewood Park Cemetery, " a committal service for Mr. Bowdre occurred on 5/12/37 at Lot 80, Sequoia Plot with his ashes being placed in the marker foundation. His wife Ada Hervey Bowdre, was interred in the same lot on 6/15/70".
