Lawrence Michael Staley was born in Charter Oak, Iowa, on November 18, 1950, the son of Lawrence Edward Staley and Alice Ann Musich. Larry grew up in Boys Town, Nebraska.
After college, he began working construction which eventually led to a 25 year career as a tractor-trailer operator. Over the years, Larry worked for North American Transport Services, Heartland Express, Hummer Trucking, and Landstar Trucking. In 2008 Larry retired from trucking and began selling salvaged metals. Then in 2015 he bought a small farm near Keswick where he continued his salvage operation. Larry enjoyed playing cards, fishing, visiting with friends, and above all, doing anything with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bruce Larkin.
Surviving are his son, Lawrence (Angi) Staley of Keswick; a brother, Edward (Lanai) Staley of Vista, California; two sisters, Cheryl Ames of Sedalia, Missouri, and Lorraine (James) Woodford of Sioux City, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Abner and Chole Staley.
