Genevieve Marie Kinman, 92, of Adair, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015, at Community Care Center in Stuart, Iowa.
Genevieve was born March 17, 1923, in Walnut Township, Adair County, Iowa, to Roy and Florence (Armstrong) Hayes. She grew up in Adair County and Guthrie County and attended school in Menlo. She was married to Clyde Hal Kinman on February 14, 1941, in Maryville, Missouri. They then farmed in Guthrie Center and in 1949 they moved to Adair.
Genevieve was an excellent seamstress, making her daughters’ clothes and sewing for others as well. She always had a vegetable garden and loved flowers of all varieties.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Adair, the WSCS at the church and she had been active in civic league.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hal; a granddaughter, Cathy Sadler; sons-in-law, Carl Jens and Larry Kopaska; brothers, Glen, Boyd, Bernard and Darrell; and a sister, Neva.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Hockenberry Family Care in Adair, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Adair, IA.
Burial will be in Sunnyhill Cemetery in Adair, IA.
Memorials are preferred to family’s wishes.
