The Man Killed Wednesday at American Plant Was a Former Resident of Wright County

A very sad message on Wednesday morning from Mason City informed relatives and friends of Newt Newtson that he had been killed at a brick yard in that city by being struck in the back by a clay car. Details of the unfortunate accident have not yet been obtained here and it is therefore not known just how it happened.

Mr. Newtson is well known here and is said to have been a very fine man. For a number of years the family lived about seven or eight miles north of Clarion, but for the past year or two had occupied the Essick farm about a mile and a half north of town, leaving here only last April. Mrs. Newtson has been living on a claim near Hettinger, S. Dak., while her husband was employed in the brick works at Mason City, being on the claim at the time the accident occurred. Mrs. Newtson is a sister of C. J. Thompson north of town and it was to him that the message came. Arrangements for the funeral and place of burial will not be known until Mrs. Newtson arrives. It is indeed a sad thing for this good man to be thus taken away in the prime of life and his wife and other relatives will receive the deepest and most profound sympathy from numerous friends here, where he was so well and favorably known.
