Services Held For Mr. Beekman
Nixon-Funeral services were held Sunday, December 19, at 1:30 p.m. from the Smiley United Methodist church for Fielder Farley Beekman who died in the Methodist General Hospital in San Antonio at 3:35 p.m. December 17.
The Rev. Elaine Smith of the Smiley United Methodist church, officiated at he rites with burial in the Bundick cemetery under the direction of Finch Funeral Home of Nixon.
Mr. Beekman was born in Rockport on April 30, 1916, the son of Fielder Bowen and Vene Mae Nance Beekman. He had resided in Smiley and at the time of his death had been a resident of San Antonio for many years.
He was employed at Fort Sam Houston and was a member of the Smiley United Methodist church.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors are one daughter, Anna Louise Beekman of San Antonio; two sisters, Mary Allred of New Port Ritchie, Fla., and Mrs. Dot Wright of Smiley.
