Born April 14, 1922, in Detroit, Michigan, Edith was a daughter of the late Stephen and Marie Steinhauser Grant.
On October 12, 1940, she was united in marriage to Ervin Willmite at the parsonage of Trinity Lutheran Church. The couple has been married for 59 years before Ervin preceded her in death on January 20, 2000.
Edith was employed for many years as a Nurses Aide at St. Nicholas Hospital, retiring in 1961. She was previously employed by Herzigers Sausage. Edith was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, the Ladies Guild, Lifetime Bible Class and a former Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of Maplelette Homemaker Club, Kettle Karvers, a 4 H Leader for more than 25 years and enjoyed crafts and gardening.
Edith is survived by two children, Janet Marie (James J.) Erdmann, Marysville, WA, Linda Lou (Richard A.) Yurk, Plymouth, WI; five grandchildren, Donna M (Wayne R.) Ohlemeirer, Connie J. Erdmann, John T. Erdmann, Trent E (Lesley A.) Yurk, Tamara L. (Robert) Palmer; three great grandchildren, Kent W. Ohlemeirer, Jennifer M. (Nick) Ohlemeirer, Eric S. Ohlemeirer; two great grandchildren, Dylan and Alec; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ervin and her son, Timothy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 3027 Wilgus Ave., with the Rev. Bryan Osladil, pastor, officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome at the church, on Saturday, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
Entombment will be Garden Terrace Mausoleum of Lutheran Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established, in her name, for Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. The Lippert-Olson Funeral Home is serving the family.
