Mrs. Laura E. Newkirk, seventy one, wife of George A. Newkirk, died at her home, 638 East End Ave., at 8:45 a.m. Saturday.
She was born at Joanna Heights, Berks County, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rohert Westley. She was a member of St. Pauls Evangelical and Reformed Church.
She is survived by her husband and these children, A. W. Newkirk, of this city; Russell R. of Coatesville, Mrs. Dorothy Stansbury, of Corning, N. Y.; M. Margaret Newkirk, of Reading; Mildred E. Newkirk, at home; Edgar P., of this city; Lucille, wife of T/Sgt. Joseph E. Archambault, of this city; Capt. Stanley M. Newkirk, U. S. Army, serving overseas; Eleanor, wife of Elmer Kemper, of this city; Samuel G., of Corning, N. Y.; 20 grandchildren, four of whom are in U. S. armed services; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Strictly private service will he held from her late home, 638 E. End Ave., on Tuesday morning, at 10:10 o'clock.
Interment will be strictly private in Riverview Burial Park.
Friends may call at the late home Monday 7 to 9.
