James was the son of Daniel and Mary Maria (Polly) (Seiberling) Moser. He married Adeline Amelia (Kemmerer) on September 19, 1858 in Akron, Ohio. They were the parents of 19 children, and they raised a grandson, Gary Elmer Moser.

OBITUARY-THE PAWNEE REPUBLICAN

IN MEMORIAM
DIED.-At his home in Mission Creek, Pawnee county, Nebr., April 5, 1889, James Moser, at the age of 50 years, seven months and twenty-seven days.
He was a faithful worker of Eureka grange P. of H. No. 14 of Pawnee county, Nebr. His loss is deeply felt by all his brothers and sisters in the grange.
RESOLVED, That we extend our deepest heartfelt sympathy to our sister, his wife, and to his family, who are called upon to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father.
RESOLVED, That the hall be draped in mourning for the next sixty days.
RESOLVED, That as a tribute of respect to our worthy brother, a copy of these resolutions be published in the Grange Bulletin, Fremont Flail, and in also both of the Pawnee papers, and that they be spread upon the grange minutes.
