1953: According to his death index, he was living in Key West, Monroe, Florida.

KEY WEST, Fla. (AP)- Burrett Parkell Garnett, a longtime journalist who continued writing for a syndicated weekly column for the Scripps-Howard News Service after he turned 100, died Friday. He was 100.
Garnett began his 86-year career in journalism as a printer's helper for the Albuquerque Journal. He worked for the Cleveland Leader and Duluth, Minn., News-Tribune before he became correspondent for the Washington bureau of United Press in 1918. Garnett was managing editor of Washington Herald and Washington Daily News.
In 1923 he founded Editorial Research Report, a service that provided background material for editorial writers. He remained a partner until 1944.
