Eugene was born on a farm in southern Ohio on June 1, 1991. He spent most of his kitty life living in Berea, Kentucky. He was irascible, grouchy, and spoiled. He had been my pet since I first moved out on my own, after I got my first full-time job. I loved him. He passed away unexpectedly from respiratory failure on August 10, 2007. He was a most beloved pet and companion. I wish I could have given him a better, more peaceful farewell.

"Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath, man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust and to dust all return. Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?" ECCLESIASTES 3:19-21

"Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before god." LUKE 12:6

"The more people I meet, the more I like my cat." - Anon.

"I have studied many philosophers and many cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior." - Hippolyte Taine
