Joseph G. Svirbely Sr.
Joseph G. Svirbely Sr., formerly of Delaware St., died at 12:45 a.m. Sunday at the Clepper Convalescent Home, 959 East State St., after a lingering illness. He was 77.
Born in Czechoslovakia Aug. 25, 1885, he was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Billy Svirbely.
Mr. Svirbely was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Sharon, and the Jednota Lodge, Farrell. He was a retired Westinghouse Electric Corp. employee of Department E-10 (tool room).
His wife, Mary, died in 1960.
Surviving are three daughters, Anna, wife of John Shemansky, and Betty, wife of Joseph Mader, both of Sharon, and Mary, wife of Maj. E. T. Hynes, El Paso, Tex.; five sons, Joseph, Farrell; Andrew, Philadelphia, and Michael, John and George, all of Sharon; 30 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
