ROBERT ALTON STEWART, AGE 75
And a resident of the Pine community died at 1:20 pm Sunday October 10, 2010 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was born in Walnut Hill, FL and was a member of Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church for 33 years. Mr. Stewart was a long-time Sunday school teacher and the Sunday school superintendent for many years. He was self-employed for 41 years in the dairy and wooden pallet industries as the owner of Rising Sun Farm and Stewart’s Pallet Business.
Survived by:
Wife of nearly 52 years: Eva Pearl Campbell Stewart of Pine
2 Sons and Daughters in law: Mark and Margaret Stewart Steve and Tammy Stewart all of Franklinton
7 Grandchildren: Phil, Vinny, Heather, Matthew, Joshua, and Delaney Stewart all of Franklinton
1 Step-grandchild through Tammy: Genifer Gibbons of Apopka, FL
Mother: Susie Allen Stewart of Atmore, AL
Brother and sister in law: Leon and Donna Stewart of Atmore, AL
Sister: Nell Boatwright of Birmingham, AL
He was preceded in death by a son Phillip Alton Stewart, father John Wesley Stewart, his brother Curtis Stewart and brother in law Jake Boatwright
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday October 12th from 6 pm until 10 pm and after 9 am on Wednesday. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Lerand Hunt and Rev. Leon Stewart officiating. Per the family’s wishes, no graveside committal service will be held though Mr. Stewart will be buried in Ellis Cemetery.
