"Suggested edit: Roy William Spilker, born December 9, 1917, at the old Spilker homestead in Sugar Creek Township of Hancock County, Indiana, died April 28, 1997, in Indianapolis, at the age of 79. During his work life, he earned his living as an Electrician for Bradley Electric, a Tool & Die Supervisor at Allison Div. of GM, and Sales Manager for Wallace Expanding Machines for 29 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a 52-year member of the Cumberland Masonic Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite and the Transportation Club for the Shrine Children's Hospital. He was also a past president of the consistory at St. John's Church in Cumberland, a past Boy Scout Master, and a member of Lawrence United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed attending St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.

He was an honest, caring, giving, and loving man. While he never reduced a "personal mission statement" to writing, during his life, he truly "lived," he "loved," he "learned," and he "left a legacy."
