Mrs. Ann Frances Manka, 40, wife of lawyer Ronald E. Manka, died Tuesday at St. Luke's Hospital.
Mrs. Manka was a member and an elected shepherd deacon of The Village Presbyterian Church. She served on the church's youth committee, taught Sunday School and was a confirmation leader.
She held PTA offices at Highlands Elementary School and Shawnee Mission East High School.
She was president of the Reinhardt Homes Association and was a member of the Young Matrons of Johnson County. She was born in Shawnee, Okla., and lived in this area 15 years. Mr. Manka, of the home, is a partner in the firm of Lathrop, Koontz, Righter, Clagett & Norquist. Earlier, he was with the Butler Manufacturing Co.
She also leaves two daughters, Kimberly Ann Manka and Lora Christine Manka of the home, her parents, Manvel C. and Ena Fay Patterson, Wichita; a brother, M. Dean Patterson, Hesston, Kan.; and two sisters, Mrs. Vesta Patterson Lee, Dallas, and Mrs. Debra Lee White, Wichita.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, Friends may call from 7 to 8 :30 p.m. today at the Stine & McClure Chapel. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the church foundation for children and youth.
