Mrs. Katie Hofferber, 79, of Grand Island, died Tuesday at a local nursing home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Livingston Sondermann Funeral Home with the Rev. David McMahill officiating. Burial will be in Grand Island Cem. Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the United Congregational Church.

Mrs. Hofferber was born Dec. 23, 1895, in the German settlement at Frank, Russia to Henry and Marie Stroh Willman.

At the age of nine, she moved with her family to Grand Island, where she completed her education and grew to womanhood.

On April 2, 1916 she married John Hofferber at Grand Island. They made their home here and Mr. Hofferber died in 1953.

Mrs. Hofferber was a member of the United Congregational Church.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth of Crookston, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Wendell Keller and Mrs. Dick D. Demuth both of Grand Island, a brother David Willman of Grand Island, a sister, Mrs. E. W. Woodruff of Grand Island and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 8 brothers and 4 sister
