Death of Miss Kate E. Ackerman.
Miss Kate E. Ackerman, daughter of the late George Ackerman, died about ten o'clock on Friday evening at her home, No. 347 West King street. She was taken sick last September with malarial fever, which developed into throat and lung trouble, and she has been an invalid ever since. Her death is a particularly sad one, following so closely those of her brother and father, which occurred in October and December last respectively.
Miss Ackerman was a lady well known in this city and elsewhere as one who bore the character of a devout and earnest Christian. In early life she united herself with Trinity Lutheran church, and later, feeling that her assistance was needed at Christ church, transferred her membership to that congregation. Here she has been a leading member for many years and had by her active participation in all religious matters, made herself one of those members without which no church could thrive. She was one of the teachers in the Sunday-school, and always lent a helping hand to religious enterprises of any kind.
In the family Miss Kate will be most sorely missed. To her late father she was a source of great comfort and assistance. She was wide-awake to all matters of business, and was consulted on all points of importance. She felt it her duty to do her utmost for others, and her intelligent aid was always sought.
The surviving members of Miss Ackerman's family are her mother, two brothers, Jacob and George, and a sister Miss Mary. The funeral took place on last Tuesday afternoon from her late residence. -- The Semi-Weekly New Era, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, 21Mar1891, p. 5.

Ackerman. March 13, 1891, in this city Katie E., daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Ackerman. Funeral from her mother's residence, No. 347 West King street, this afternoon at two o'clock. Interment at Woodward Hill cemetery. -- The News-Journal, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, 17Mar1891, p. 4.
