Rev. Allen Arthur Burk, age 74 years, of Pine Knot, Kentucky died April 16, 202 at his home.
He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on January 30, 1946 the son of Wilburn and Martha (Coffey) Burk. Allen was a retired Butcher which had worked for Earl Anderson’s Grocery, Food Fair, Bestway and Save A Lot. He was ordained a Baptist Minister in 1978 at the Meadow Grove Baptist Church by Ira Sexton, where he had served as assistant Pastor, and was currently a member and Pastor of the Roberts Chapel Church. Allen had been Pastor at Hilltop Baptist Church, Gumfork Community Baptist Church, Now Hope Baptist Church, Mt. View Baptist Church, Concord Community Church, and East Robbins Baptist Church, and assistant Pastor Murphy Ridge Church of God.
His parents; wife, Frances Marie (Stephens) Burk; brothers, Ray Burk, Darel Burk, Larry Burk, Tim Burk, Randel Burk, Tom Burk, Donald Burk, Maurice Burk, and Charlie Burk; and sisters, Resse Lewallen and Rettie Burk precede him in death.
Survivors include his children, Sherry Dixon (Will) of Whitley City, Kentucky; Michael Burk (Tonya) of Yukon, Oklahoma, Jeffery Burk (Julie) of Science Hill, Kentucky, and Gordon Burk (Crystal) of Stearns, Kentucky; brothers, Jerry Burk of Whitley City and Gene Burk of Monticello; sisters, Judy Young, Bertie McCutchen, Dorothy Calhoun all of Sidney, Ohio, and Savannah Jones and Rosie Worley both of Monticello; grandchildren, Rodney Cox, Don Cox, Christopher Burk, Joshua Burk, Cory Burk, Zachary Burk, Elijah Morrow, and McKenzie Burk; and great grandchildren, Cade Burk, Teagan Burk, Sadie Cox, Desa Cox, Lyndee Cox, Weston Cox, and Paxton Cox.
Per the Governor’s request, a private family service will be held with Bro. Scotty Harness officaiting. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery. Friends may send condolences online at www.mccrearyfh.com.
