Crosby, Jonathan 'Jon' Ross 34 Oct. 31, 1980 June 24, 2015 Jon, age 34, died in Portland. Born in Walla Walla, Wash., he lived in Walla Walla and Pullman, Wash., and was living in Portland at the time of his death. Jon graduated from Portland Adventist Academy in Portland, attended Pacific Union College in Angwin, Calif., and attended Portland State University. He was working for Oregonian Publishing Co. Jon's family include his mother, Susie Crain of Oregon City; father, Bruce Crosby of Portland; brother, Steffan Crosby of Walla Walla; sister, Natalie Crosby of Portland; stepfather, Ken Crain of Oregon City; stepsister, Carrie Crain of Damascus; and stepbrothers, Jason Crain and Corey Crain of Vancouver. Jon enjoyed hiking, basketball and other sports. He also enjoyed reading, history, discussing politics, mathematics and travel; he was smart and had a great sense of humor. He had many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him and who he loved in return. He was kind, thoughtful and a wonderful son, brother and friend. Jon will be greatly missed by his family and friends and will never be forgotten. We look forward to seeing him again. A memorial service and reception will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2015, at Pleasant Valley SDA Church, 11125 S.E. 172nd Ave., Happy Valley, OR 97086. A memorial marker will be placed at Mt. Hope Cemetery in College Place, Wash. Memorial contributions are welcomed at Jon's former elementary school, Hood View Junior Academy, 26505 SE Kelso Rd., Boring, OR 97009.
