Nina graduated from Knifley High School in Kentucky, received an Associate’s Degree in Education from Lindsey Wilson College, received her BA degree from Beulah College in California and her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Indiana University Southeast.
Nina was proceeded in death by her parents, John Oscar and Ora Mae (Corbin) Arnold, her husband of 53 years Isaac Lee Schmucker, her brothers; Andrew, Charles, David, Stanley and Robert Arnold, her sisters; Edna Yarberry, Beulah Arnold, Lorena Christie, and her daughter Terzeta Schmucker.
She is survived by her daughters; Ninita (Gordon) Conley, Rosana (Steve) Troxel, Lorita (George) Elam, and Floreta (Bill) Helm, her siblings; Justine Knifley, Yneth Broughton, and Edwin Arnold, eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Nina and Isaac served on the mission field in New Mexico and Canada. She retired from teaching kindergarten in Paoli, IN after 26 years. They also founded the Mt. Zion Church clothes closet that has served people all-over south-central Indiana. Nina was known for serving the Lord, her family, the school, the church and her community. She enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, baking and visiting family. She never missed remembering a graduation, birthday, or wedding with a card, warm words and gifts. Her radiant smile will be greatly missed.
We, as a family, with great gratitude, wish to thank the many people who touched our mother’s life with joy and friendship throughout the years.
There will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dillman-Green Funeral Home, Marengo, IN.
