John Lavalley, 85 of Champlain died Tuesday at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouse's Point.

Mr. Lavalley, a meat cutter, had lived most of his life in Champlain.

He was born March 26, 1879. Son of William and Lucy(Normandain)Lavalley of Beekmantown.

He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Edward Mero of North Adams, Mass., Mrs. Frank Cole of Weir, Mass., Mrs. Neal Paulson of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. William Wyre of Champlain and Mrs. Leward Mooso of Plattsburgh; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Clark Funeral Home here where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church Friday morning at 9. The body will be placed in the parish vault for burial next spring.
