William was the son of Lewis and Anna Maurie Deforrest Miller. He married Charlotte Virginia Stephens on December 7, 1935, in Clay County, Missouri. They were the parents of four sons, William who died in infancy, David Lee, and twin boys Donald Jay and Ronald Ray.

William Octavia Miller, 95 years old, passed away January 15, 2012. He resided at 503 E. Earle St. in Landrum. He was a member of the Philadelphia Church of God and had worked as a pipefitter. Mr. Miller had served in the US Army during World War II.

He was predeceased by his wife, parents and three sons, William, David in 2010 and Donald in 1990. He leaves a son, Ronald, of Landrum. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.
