James Clinton died Friday evening May 18th at 9:50pm in Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Clinton was born in Gordon County September 23, 1935. Son of the late John and Cora Mae Bagley Dillard. He was a member of the Calhoun Church of Christ and a veteran of the United States Navy. Before his retirement he was a technician with A.T.&T.. Very active in his community Clinton was a member of the Calhoun Jaycees, Calhoun Elks Lodge #1883, Oothcalooga Masonic Lodge F &AM #154 and was on the Directors Staff of the Yaarab Shrine Temple. He was preceded in death by Brothers and sisters, Aileen Pendley, Lillian Crump, Sam Dillard, Lenorra Brock, and Eddie Bell Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy J. Dillard of Calhoun. Three daughters and their husbands, Tammy and Raymond Cowart of Calhoun, Sandy and Dave Maddox of Calhoun, Sheay and Doug Bingham of Alamo, Tn.. Two Step-Sons, Scott and Kevin Jones. Two Brothers, Gene and Herman Dillard. Four Sisters, Kathleen Conway, Anna Lee Sticher, Louise Carden, and Johnnie Mae Lanham. Nine Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday May 21st at 4pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Minister Doug Bingham, Pastor of Alamo Church of Christ and Minister Scott Sides Pastor of Calhoun Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwood Spring Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Hawkins pastor of Belmont Baptist Church.
Pallbearers serving include, Dustin Brock, Steve Dillard, Todd Holbert, Harry Harwell, Ro Holbert, David and Randy Brock.
