Mr. Acker was born in Raritan Township he was the son of the late Thomas B. and Elmlra (Walling) Acker.
A farmer, he farmed the Adeline Aumack farm in Raritan Township for 56 years.
He was a member of the Junior Order of American Mechanics, Keyport, and St. John's Methodist Church, Hazlet.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Esther Steneck, Keyport, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Fred Saggan, Middletown Township.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 pm in the Bedle Funeral Home, Keyport, with the Rev. Norman R. Riley, pastor of St. John's Church, officiating. Interment was in Cedarwood Cemetery, Hazlet.
