Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 16th, 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel with graveside services to follow. Lester was born in Maricopa and grew up in Long Beach. He later moved to Bakersfield where he worked as a crane operator. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers and worked on original construction of many landmarks in Kern County. He was a Past Master of Caledonia Masonic Lodge, No. 486, a member of Scottish Rite, Al Malaikah Shrine and Past Patron of Caledonia Chapter 391, Order of the Eastern Star. He was a recipient of the DeMolay Legion of Honor. Lester was the Shrine clown on skates in parades. He loved to dance and play the guitar. Lester and Louise RV'ed in tents, trailers, campers and fifth wheels. They traveled with the Mobile Nobles RV Club. Lester is survived by his beloved wife, Louise; they were three weeks short of their 50th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his daughters, Gail Clark of Bakersfield, Donna Riggs of Santa Maria; his sons, Paul Hutchison of San Diego and Ray Hutchison and wife, Barbara of Bakersfield; also grandsons, Brian Riggs of Hawaii and David Hutchison of Washington. He was predeceased by son-in-law, Roger Clark; and grandson, Kevin Riggs. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 15th, from 4-8 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary.
