Emma (Auch) Bedinger, age 88, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020, at Westfield Quality Care.

A private family interment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. A Memorial Service will take place at a later date.

Emma Marie Auch Bedinger, the daughter of Elmer and Marie (Gosselin) Burnison, was born in Sturgis, South Dakota on December 17, 1931 and passed away on April 24, 2020 at the age of 88.

Emma grew up on the family farm in South Dakota. She attended country schools and graduated from Proud High School in 1949 and the National School of Business in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1950. Emma worked at the Black Hill Ordinance Plant in Igloo, South Dakota and then was a secretary at Robbins & Stearns in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Emma married Melvin Auch on November 13, 1955 at Rapid City, SD. They moved to Grand Island, Nebraska, where Emma worked at Redman Industries before they started their family. They had three children: Robert, Kathleen and William. They raised their family in Aurora. After the children were grown, Emma worked at Thomas Realty. Melvin passed away on November 30, 2005.

Emma was married to William Bedinger on October 16, 2010.

Emma was a very faithful member of the Westside Covenant church (name change to Evangelical Covenant Church in Jan. 2020), where she was involved with the Covenant Women and served on other Church Boards & organizations. Emma was a volunteer for many years the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop. She enjoyed bowling, and cross word puzzles. The most important part of her life was being a mother, grandmother and wife.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Melvin Auch, three brothers, James, Donald and William Burnison, sister Margaret Burnison and sister-in-law Florence Burnison.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bill of Aurora; three children, Robert (Georgia) Auch of New Castle, Wyoming, Kathleen (Randy) Johnson of Cripple Creek, Colorado and William (Karen) Auch of Papillion; 3 granddaughters, Megan (Dan) Johnson, Alayna Auch and Kate (Ken) Cummings; a great-granddaughter, Emma Johnson and a great-grandson is on the way. She is also survived by a sister, Betty (John) Gall of Wood River and several nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
