Dorothy’s mother Maria(h) and father Sidney were long-time residents of Concord, the village having been founded by her great-grandfather Ashford M. Smith in 1829-30, near bounty land received from his service in the War of 1812.
She married Frank Myron Ball on Dec 7, 1922. She and Frank were born 3 months apart and were close childhood friends. They had two daughters, Betty and Phyllis, and lived a long happy life together.
