He was born in Anson County on July 31, 1939 , the son of the late James and Verla Pierce. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Frances Pierce and siblings, Lib Edwards, James Pierce, Margie Pierce, Mildred Jones, David Pierce, Robert Pierce, Dorothy (Dot) Adams, Fannie Price and Vance Pierce.

Dock is survived by his daughters, Lesa Pierce-Cameron and her husband Mike of Stokesdale, NC and Lynn Pierce of Monroe; granddaughters, Lizzy and Lydia Pierce; siblings, Daniel Pierce, Frances Thomas, Wanda Jackson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to the Covid 19 virus, an open visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. Funeral Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Dock’s honor to Samaritan’s Purse/Donor Ministries, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607. McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe is serving the family.
