Survivors include three sons, M.D. Gassett of Starke, Calvin C. Gassett of Gainesville, and James H. Gassett of Keystone Heights; two daughters, Mrs. Jewell Cason of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Ovada Whitt of Columbiana, Ohio; three brothers, Levy, Wyatt, and Marion Payne, all of Skippersville, Ala.; one sister, Mrs. Laura Stephens of Alabama; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, in Keystone Lake Cemetery with Rev. Joseph Arthur officiating. Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
