Mrs. Lucy Godwin, widow of W. H. Godwin, passed away suddenly Friday afternoon. Mrs. Godwin was a native of Clay County, Fla., and came to Jacksonville 28 years ago She was a member of the Franklin St. Baptist Church. Surviving are two step-daughters, Mrs. J. J. Carroll, Jacksonville; and Mrs. D. B. Hines, Philadelphia, Pa.; two step-sons, J. R. Godwin, Jacksonville, Fla., and J. C. Godwin, Jacksonville, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Barrow, Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Irene Wingate, Lake Worth, Fla.; two brothers, Miles West, Middleburg, Fla., and Nelson West, Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Franklin Street Baptist Church. The Rev. Harry M. Liechty, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Seashole Funeral Parlors.
