She was the mother of songwriter Bobby Russell who wrote "Honey" and Little Green Apples," among other hits. In addition to her son, she was survived by her husband, R. Frank Russell, a daughter, Mrs. Ginger Russell Baker of Iowa City, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Sykes of Madison and Mrs. Estelle Joins of Detroit, and a brother, Charles Knight of Nashville.
