MOUNTAIN HOME (Special)—Mrs. Maude Elizabeth Rice, 78, of Mountain Home, a longtime resident of Elmore county, died Saturday morning in a Mountain Home hospital.
Mrs. Rice was born Sept. 19, 1876, in Riverton, Neb. She was married Dec. 31, 1894, in Asotin, Wash,, to Edward C. Rice and the couple moved here from Washington in 1910.
She was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving in addition to Mr. Rice are three sons, Lawrence E. Rice of Hampton, Ore., Alvia V. of Beaumont, Texas, and Claude F. Rice of Fulton, N. Y.; three daughters, Mrs. Ida Floy Hubbard of Imlay, Nev., Mrs. Edna May Baer of Mountain Home and Mrs. Mary Esther Ahlstrom of Caliente, Nev.; three brothers, Edward Ashburn of Longview, Wash., Frank E. Ashburn of Kittitas, Wash., and Harry S. Ashburn of Portland; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Norcross and Mrs. Deborah Groff, both of Portland, Mrs. Sadie Cassidy of North Bend, Ore., and Mrs. Blanche Case of Kittitas, and 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at Bey chapel Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Ira Mall will officiate and interment will be at Mountain View.
