Mr. James Wade Trucks age 82, of Griffin, Georgia passed away Friday May 1, 2020 at Brightmoor Nursing Facility in Griffin, Georgia. Mr. Trucks was born in Birmingham, Alabama on August 19, 1937. He is preceded in death by his father Virgil Oliver Trucks Sr., mother Mamie Alice McFarland, step-father Samuel Murdock McFarland, brother David Murdock McFarland, and sister-in-law Jan Trucks. He retired from the Civil Service and the Army after 32 years of service with the rank of Sergeant Major. Mr. Trucks was a dedicated father, grandfather, and husband. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, fan of the Atlanta Braves, and Alabama football.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Joyce Kish Trucks, children, son Lewis Wade Trucks and wife Lisa, son Frank Matthew Trucks; grandchildren, Brittany Trucks Bruce and husband John, Jakob Lee Trucks and fiance Ashlyn Parsons, Mason Wade Trucks; great grandchildren, Tyrion Bruce, Ronan Bruce; sister Carolyn Beckwith and husband Larry, brother Virgil Oliver Trucks Jr., sister Wendy Trucks, brother Darryl Trucks and wife Vicki; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Due to the Covid-19 virus and current restrictions there will be a small graveside service on Monday May 4, 2020 at 1:00 pm CST in Currie Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Hoover, Alabama. Social distancing measures will be used per state regulations. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project in Mr. Trucks name through their website.
