Alvetta Sue Wallace 79, of Lynnville formerly of Oakland City entered rest on Saturday May 2, 2020 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. Alvetta was born the youngest child of Alvy and Gladys (Sattler)Wallace of Winslow, IN on Jan.19, 1941.

She graduated from Winslow High School in 1959. She also graduated from Oakland City College in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, and a graduate from Indiana University in 1973 with a Master of Science in Education Degree. She taught school in the East Gibson School Corporation, Francisco School and Barton Township School for over 30 years. Alvetta was a very active in D.A.R. and was the first woman elected president of the Oakland City Lions Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert and Arnold Wallace, and her step-father Johnny Rutter.

She is survived by a sister Doretta Royalty of Winslow, IN, Teresa (Mike) Williams of Oakland City, IN who was her caregivers and several other nieces and nephews.

Due to current circumstance a private graveside services will be conducted at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg,, IN.
