Ellen was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Asher Sr (1845-1901) and Elizabeth Howard Asher (1839-1881). She first married John C. Wilson and they went on to have three children; Allen Wilson (1886-1918), Malvery Wilson (1894-1991) and Myrtle Wilson (1899-?). She then married B.P. Jackson and had one daughter Lula. Finally she married George Taylor.
