Hazel B. Wood, 84, of 136 Marquette St. died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at Rose Garden Care Center in Peoria Heights.
Born May 3, 1918, in Kansas, she married Everett Wood Jr. on Jan. 6, 1947, in Independence, Kan. He died Sept. 1, 1997, in Danville.
She also was preceded in death by two sons, Walter Wood and Howard Asmussen; one brother; and four sisters.
Surviving are four daughters, Beverly (and Wes) Johnson of Pretty Prairie, Kan., Mariom (and Roger) Elliott of Kansas, Shirley Young and Mary Bassett, both of Peoria; two sons, Charles and James (and Marcia), both of Creve Coeur; and one sister, Pauline Cunningham of Kansas.
She retired as a nurse's aide for the state of Illinois and later was a home care aide, retiring in 1999.
Graveside services will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
