Born in Huntingdon, Que., the late Mr. Wood came to Bytown when a very young man, and was employed by the firm of McKinnon and Mancnester, dealing in men's furnishings and lumbermen's supplies. He later bought out the firm and operated the business until it was wiped out in the fire of 1900. Following the fire he built another shop on Wellington street, and went into business as a tailor. He knew his business well, and became known as one of the best tailors in the city. About eight years ago he retired from active business.
He was a member of the Plymouth Brethren.
Surviving are his widow, two sons, Messrs, Walter E., of Millet. Alta., and Milton H., of Los Angeles, Cal.; three daughters,. Mrs. Harold Storey, Montreal; Mrs. Homuald Bouryue, Montreal, and Mrs, Weston Allan, Westboro; one sister, Mrs. William Fletcher, of Ottawa, and several grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, from the chapel of George H. Kogers, Elgin street, to Beechwood cemetery.
