James B. Flynt, one of the old residents of Brooklyn, passed away last Friday morning at his home, 550 Eleventh street. Death was caused by heart failure.
The deceased was born in Philadelphia, Pa., fifty-five years ago, and came to Brooklyn and settled here with his parents, when he was still a youngster. For twenty years he was employed as a decorative artist on yachts.
He is survived by a widow, Jennie Cobbett Flynt, whom he married in Morristown, N.J.; a daughter, Mrs. Edward Hawley of Brooklyn, three sisters, Mrs. H. M. Langen of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; Mrs. Samuel Hall of Corning, Ark., and Mrs. Carrie Bromhead of Brooklyn, and two brothers William S. Flynt of New Orleans and Milton B. Flynt of Cleveland, Ohio.
The funeral services over the remains will be held at his late residence tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock. The interment, on Tuesday, will be in Green-Wood Cemetery. (The Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Brooklyn, New York, 7 Jun 1914, Sun., Page 4)
