Born on April 10, 1932, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Earl P. and Mary C. (Vawn) Bay.
John is survived by: his wife, N. Marie (Leonard) Bay, whom he married on Sept. 9, 1961; son, Michael John Bay and wife, Carlisle Howard Bay, of Florida; four grandchildren; Mary Charlotte, Virginia Caroline and Jacob Alexander, Samuel Patrick Bay and a sister, Patty L. Elsesser, of Lewistown.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
John had worked at the Lewistown Standard Savings & Loan, was president of Horizon Savings & Loan and was vice-president of Northwest Savings & Loan.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Rotary Club of Lewistown.
John had served on the Northwest Savings & Loan Advisory Board, Board of Directors of the Community Concert Association and was a past member of the Lewistown Country Club.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 9, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown with the Rev. Kari Swigart officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 to11 a.m., Monday at the funeral home.
