MAX CURTIS ANDERSON

Max C. Anderson, 77, of Downing, MO, passed away May 18, 2005, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.
The son of Loring Henry and Cora Helen (Snowbarger) Anderson, he was born on September 6, 1927, in rural Queen City, MO.
Max was raised in Schuyler County, MO, and graduated from the Queen City High School in 1945. In 1946, he enlisted in the United States Army Horse Cavalry, where he served 14 months.
On April 8, 1951, at the Queen City Christian Church in Queen City, MO, he was united in marriage to Betty M. Blessing and to this union two children were born, Wayne and Beverly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Anna Louise Anderson and Marjorie Belle Kazy and two brothers, Ralph Anderson and one in infancy.
Max was a member of the Downing Christian Church, where he faithfully attended and served as a deacon and church board secretary since January 1975.
Max drove a milk route for the Kahoka Cheese Company for 12½ years and farmed for 51 years on the same farm near Downing, MO, where they lived at the time of his passing.
Funeral services were held May 21, 2005, at the Downing Christian Church, Downing MO, with Larry Smith, pastor of the Downing Church, officiating, assisted by Robert Harrison, pastor of the Lancaster Baptist Church. Music was provided by organist, Maureen Watkins and soloist, Alisa Kigar. A poem dedicated by the grandchildren was read by Christina Morganstern. Pallbearers were David Anderson, Steve Blessing, Chris Morganstern, Garry Poe, Jerry Duncan and Steve Farnsworth. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Downing Christian Church Board. Memorials have been established for the Downing Christian Church or Coffey Cemetery. Burial was in the Coffey Cemetery, south of Downing, MO. Arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Downing, MO.
