Bessie Estella Rutland, 97, Cherokee Ala., died Wensday, September 22, 1999. the funeral will be held at 2pm Friday Sept 24, 1999 at the Morrison Funeral Home chapel, Cherokee, with the burrial in harris Capel Cemetery.
Officiating minister will be the Rev. Matt Hall.

She was a native of Cherokee and a mamber of the First Baptist Church, Cherokee. She was preceeded in death by her husband Roy Bryan Rutland; her son Erista"Buddy" Rutland; daughter Reba J. Birdsong; grandsons Thomas E. Hamm, Ronald S. Hamm and Scotty Lynn Birdsong.

She is survived by sons Howard Rutland, Cherokee, Jim Rutland Cherokee, Roy Gene Rutland , Tuscumbia, Thomas Wayne Rutland, Cherokee and Rerry Rutland of Jasper, Ala.; daughter Olean Nicklas, Potomac, Maryland, Frances Hamm, Iuka, Miss. and Barbara Prescott, Jasper, Ala., sisters Mary Elizabeth Haswell, Oakland, Ala. and Mildred Medford, Cherokee; 32 grandchildren 41 great-granchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Prescott, Mark Hamm, Ron Rutland,Troy Rutland, Micheal Rutland and Brian Nicklas.
